Con la Visa en las manos!!!

A pesar de despertarme con el timbrazo a las 9:30 am estoy más contenta al tener mi VISA conmigo.

Ya sólo quedan los billetes, cogerme unas maletas, organizar y sobre todo que pasen los 41 días restantes.

Que ganas tengo.

I woke up at 9:30 a.m with the terrefic door bell this mornig but I'm so happy to have in my hands my VISA.

Only to wait for the plane tickets, buy two baggage, the previous organitation and the most important parta, wait for the 41 days remainders.

I can't wait.

Embajada-Embassy

El 1 de Septiembre tuve la cita con la embajada de USA. Me fui a Madrid el 31 de Agosto y me quedé en casa de unos amigos, así podía ir tranquila hasta la embajada.

La cita la tenía a las 10:15 pero tomando los consejos de las otras aupairs, me presenté allí a las 9 a.m lo cuál me llevó a ser el nº 72.

Este es el proceso que hay que llevar:

-En cuanto llegas a la entrada hay una mujer, te pregunta si tienes cita y te da un sobre de MRW y te hace sacar, si en mitad de la calle, los siguientes documentos:

-Pasaporte

-Foto

-SEVIS

-Recibo Banco Santander

-DS-160

-DS-2019

-Te dan tu nº y pasas a la espera, hay que estar atenta al monitor ya que o va lento o va rápido.

-Te toca y tienes que dar toda la información antes citada y te preguntan que es lo que vas hacer, y pasas a esperar de nuevo.

-Después de esperar un buen rato, te vuelven a llamar, se aseguran preguntándote tu nombre de que eres tú y pasan a cogerte las huellas, 1º los 4 dedos de la mano izq., luego lo mismo pero la drcha., y por último los pulgares. Te preguntan si sabes hablar inglés y cómo quieres la entrevista, yo dije que me daba igual y te pones a esperar de nuevo.

-Después de otro rato largo de espera, te llaman y te hacen la entrevista, a mi me preguntaron esto:

-Qué tal estas?

-A dónde vas a ir?

-Conoces a tu familia de acogida?

-Cuántos niños vas a cuidar?

-Qué edad tienen?

-Vas a recibir una beca?

-Tienes ganas de ir?

-Mucha suerte, ya tienes tu VISA en una semana te llegará.

Eso fue todo, fueron más los nervios que otra cosa.

September first I had my USA embassy appointment. I went to Madrid the 31st A. & I stayed at my friends house so I could go to the embassy calmly.

My appointment was at 10:15 am but I went at 9 am being the nº72.

This are the steps I had to do it:

-At the embassy enter there is a woman how ask you if you have an appointment and gives you a MRW envelope and makes you take off, in the middle of the street, the next documents:

-They give you a number and you go inside and make sure to look the monitor because sometimes goes slow and others faster.

-It's your turn and you have to give all the information mentioned before, and they ask you what are you going to do, and then you have to wait again.

-Before waiting for a while, they call you again, they ask you your name and they pass to ask for your fingerprints, 1º 4 fingers left & right hand and then the thumbs. They ask you if you know to speak English and how do you want the interview English or Spanish, I told them I didn't mind and you wait again.

-Then they call you again and do the interview, they asked me this:

-how are you?

-Where are you going?

-Do you know the family?

-How many kids are you going to look for?

-How old are they?

-Are you going to have an scholarship?

-Are you excited to go?

-Good luck, you have your VISA, in a week it will arrive.

This was all, it was more my nervousy that other thing.

Ya he hecho match con una familia de Michigan, tiene un nene de 1 mes y cuando yo llegue tendrá 4 meses.

Estoy muy emocionada porque desde el principio hubo muy buenas intenciones por ambas partes y ahora todo pasará más rápido.

Más adelante contaré más sobre todo ello. Ahora toca esperar que la agencia mande todas las cosas para pedir cita en la embajada.

Por fin veo que mi sueño se va a cumplir.

USA here I go!!!

I've just made match with a family from Michigan, they have one child of 1 month but when I'll arrive he will be 4 months.

I'm so excited because since the first time both parts have good intentions and now everything will go faster.

Lately I will tell more about all. Now it's time to wait for the papers the agency has to send me and call the USA embassy .

I see my dream come true.

1ª Entrevista / 1st interview

Ayer tuve mi primera entrevista con una familia de Brooklyn, NY.

Estuvo bastante bien, fue por gmail chat y duro casi 2 horas.

Me comentó que me iba a escribir para quedar para un chat por Skype, asi que a ver.

Más abajo dejo una lista de las preguntas que me hizo.

Yesterday I had my first interview with a family from Brooklyn , NY.

It was really good, we had a gmail chat and it took aprox. 2 hours.

They told me that they would send me an e-mail to have anothe chat by Skype, so we will see.

Here I write the questions they made me.

1. What type of family are you looking for?
2. How do your family feel about you travelling for a year?
3. How do you feel about pets?
4. How do you fill your days now that school is over?
5. What sort of things do you like to do with your friends?
6. Are you quick to make friends?
7. How do you feel about early wake up time?
8. What kind of food would you cook for kids?
9. Do you mind helping with clean up?

Después le hice yo preguntas. Later It was my turn to ask some questions.

Good news!!!

Hoy a la mañana me levantado con la sorpresa de que ya estaba online y además tenía dos familias interesadas en mí.

Esto ha sido un subidón, mucha alegría y ya mañana tengo la primera entrevista.

Que ganas tengo. Ambas familias pintan muy bien.

Una tiene un bebe de 3 meses, y la otra tiene una nena de 4 años y un bebe de 4 meses.

Ya veremos lo que pasa.

Today in the morning I woke up with the sourprise that I was online and also with 2 families interesting on me.

This has been so cool, too much happyness and tomorrow I have my first interview.

I want this so much, both families are really good.

One has only a 3 months baby boy and the other one has a girl of 4 and a baby og 4 months.

We will see waht happens.

Una llamada / A phone call

Hoy a la tarde he recibido la llamada de Aupair Care, para preguntarme sobre mi experiencia con niños pequeños, si estoy dispuesta a cuidar a bebes o a niños con hermanos pequeños, si me veo capacitada.

Por supuesto he dicho que sí!!!!

Estoy super contenta, porque entre esta noche y mañana me ponen ON-LINE, ya que mi perfil ha sido admitido. Es algo importante ya que me siento más motivada y con muchas ganas de que este último proceso comience pronto.

Today on the evening I recived a phone call from Aupair Care to ask me about my experiencie with little kids (babies), if I want to take care of babies or little kids with younger brothers or sisters.

Of course I said YES!!!!

I'm really happy, because tonight or tomorrow I will be ON-LINE, my perfil has been admited. This is really important, I fell more motivated and I feel stronger to star the last process.
